Soma Fabrications Mini Velo
My new bike. I won it at the SFBC Winterfest. I was intrigued by the mini format after seeing the Bruno bike. I saw a couple at Bike Expo in a FGFS spec. So when I saw the Soma at Winter fest I got excited and decided to bid.
I now own a Mini Velo and I love it! feels a little familiar because of my bmx bikes as far as handling. I have commuted with it and will continue to do so. I am currently looking for fenders that will fit it (20") and not cost a lot. Any suggestions?
Here are a couple more pics
Thanks to the SFBC, Soma Fabrications, Planet Bike, and Brad at American Cyclery.

Mr.OwlBoogie
A pic of me as blogged by Manny
"Mr.OwlBoogie
The famed Bridgestone XO-1 was made for only two years, 1992 and 1993. The XO series of bikes were "hybrid" bikes, but Grant Peterson (the Bridgestone USA visionary) didn't want them associated with the typical hybrids, and always used quote marks around the word when he used it."
Dammmn!!!
This Herbie Helm is siiiick. I am now officially geeked for the National Handbuilt Bicycle Show in March.

Help Manny find his bike
At around 6:15 on my commute back from work in San Jose. I stop by safeway to grab some food to cook at home. I decide to take a quick stop at target so I lock my bike up to itself with a 12 pack of ginger ale and 5 pounds of ribs in the front basket. I come back. And my bike is gone. ribs and ginger ale on the floor. Soo sad. If anyone sees this bike on bart tonight or on craigslist please contact me . Getting in contact with the police right now.

Most noticable feature would be the double wrap cotton handlebar wrap with black and white.

One year ago today...
I bought my XO-1, Fiona. It truly has changed my life. I recently rode the Tour de Cure Silicon Valley. I am planning to ride ALC11 in 2012. Excited to see what the next year on my orange bike will bring. :D

There's an Owl on My Bike!
Had to share this. Cool photo and story by Adam Norwood.
There's an Owl on My Bike!
Definitely the best excuse I've ever had for being late to work.
BIKE OWL UPDATE: at the advice of some owl / bird rescue folks, we left him alone, and sure enough as soon as it started getting dark out he called (screeched, really) for his momma owl to come take care of him. For a while we actually had TWO owls on my bike! She kept him well fed, and this morning I spotted him hopping away towards a tree, so I think all's well in his world.

My bike history
1977(?) Huffy Sundance (I think that's what it's called)
1980 Huffy Pro Thunder (not my pic). I had this in silver and red with solid metal mags. Back then I'd just roll up onto curbs without lifting my front wheel.
19xx(?) Torker BMX (not my pic). I bought a Torker off of my friend, Butch. It had bad karma. Neighborhood bullies thought I stole it from their friend. I didn't like riding it. Sold it to my other friend, Carlos, up the street.
1986 Mongoose FS-1 (not my pic). I rode this one for about 2 years. Sold it to my friend Rob. Pretty awesome.
1987 Haro Master, Still have this and still ride it once in a while.
1996 Schwinn Moab-3. Bought this in 1997. It was on closeout at Pacific Bicycle. Sold in 2008.
2002 We the People Pony. Flatland machine. Sold it due to not having room.
1985 Schwinn World Tourist. A project bike/conversion as a tribute to Jam Master Jay.
1983 Rampar Rapide. Dumpster save project. Classed it up. My brother in law rides it now.
1994 Bridgestone XO-5. Fun bike to retrogrouch out.
2007 Jamis Komodo. This got stolen. :\
1993 Bridgestone XO-1. I will have this bike for the rest of my life. :D
1992 Bridgestone XO-3. Bought this to tinker around with.
Well, I think that's all of them. There are a couple I bought to flip. But these are the ones I actually rode at one point of time. Kinda neat to see it all laid out. :D

April cycling
For my birthday, we went to Sunday Streets.
I got Cerise working again. I went to the bike kitchen and the folks there got the XO-3 sorted.
Nam was there working on his roommate's bike.
We are starting to do bike lunches at work.
Started training for the Tour de Cure that happens on June 12.
Pretty fun month. There was a stretch where I biked to work for 2 weeks straight! Pretty good feeling. Especially because gas is ridic! May is shaping up nicely already.
